The Seashell

David Fischer |

January 19, 2026

The seashell
While walking in a distant land,
I found a seashell in the sand

I held it up to see if I
Could hear the oceans mournful cry

No crashing waves to me were said
It whispered your sweet name instead

I took that shell and held it near
And to this day, I hold it, dear

For every time I’m feeling blue
I hear it’s call And think of you

My Lonliness then flies away
And my skies turn to blue from gray
